Who Can Take a Sabbatical?

In principle, all permanent employees can apply for a sabbatical. Because the reasons are personal, open dialogue with your manager is key to planning and preparing for this time off.

How It Works

Once agreed with your manager and HR, a “savings phase” begins: you continue working your regular hours at a reduced salary, which is then paid out during your sabbatical. This way, you maintain your employment relationship and social security benefits while enjoying your time away.
