Branch Opened in Hangzhou

ContiTech Grand Ocean Fluid, based in Changchun in China, has opened a branch some 2,000 km away in Hangzhou.

Heating system lines have been manufactured there for Ford’s CD4.2 platform, which includes vehicles such as the Ford Edge and the Lincoln MKS, since March. More than 1 million euros has been invested in the plant and the special machines in operation there. The underfloor lines have been produced on these machines since September 2014. Up to 40 jobs are being created on the 2000 m2 site which still has space for further expansion.

Thanks to the market success of the new Ford Edge and the 35 percent increase in demand, a further 700,000 euros is being invested to transfer the entire process chain there from Changchun over the next few months and thus write a new chapter in the success story of this young manufacturing facility. This step signals the completion of the change from a pure assembly site to a production plant. All other lines for Ford will continue to be produced in Changchun.
