Weissbach, Germany, July 22, 2026. Continental’s group sector ContiTech has expanded its service offering in its Surface Solutions business area and now offers training courses on the application of repair films for window frames at its Weissbach site in Germany. At the new training facility, participants receive both theoretical and hands-on instructions to carry out professional repairs on window profile surfaces.
The training programs provide fundamental knowledge of damage assessment and the processing of repair films. This includes surface preparation and the correct application of films to ensure a durable bond with the coating material.
At the new Continental Surface Solutions repair center, participants receive both theoretical and hands-on instructions to carry out professional repairs on window profile surfaces.
Practical training for everyday use
The training concept is primarily aimed at window manufacturers involved in the daily production and installation of PVC window frames. Initial group sessions have also been scheduled for system providers. In addition to theoretical instruction, the focus is on hands-on exercises. Participants work on real-life applications such as touch-up work and repair of installation-related damage. They learn how to properly prepare and clean damaged decorative films, and how to cut and apply the repair film. The training also covers how to avoid air pockets and ensure proper edge finishing.
Companies in the window manufacturing sector that want to be well prepared for warranty cases and deliver high-quality craftsmanship can now have their employees trained directly by the manufacturer’s product and application experts. Upon successful completion, participants receive a certificate confirming their qualification in handling repair films.

Weissbach site opens further to the industry
The new training facility is located directly at the Weissbach plant, the central production site for Exterior Living surface solutions. It is directly connected to the Customer Event Center inaugurated in 2024. Plant tours are available for workshop participants by prior appointment. This creates optimal conditions for close collaboration between Continental and its customers and partners.
“With these new repair training programs, we are strengthening our relationships with our customers – especially with the professionals who build and install windows every day,” says Rainer Irouschek, Head of Exterior Lamination Solutions. “I am pleased that we can further open our Exterior Living production site in Weissbach to the industry and create a place where knowledge is shared directly from practical experience.”
The training programs are offered for groups of six to 10 participants. Individual participants or smaller groups can also register for mixed seminars. More information is available at skai.com/exterior/service.
