Belt Splicing
Continental’s range of conveyor belt splicing services comprise complete splicing, vulcanizing, cutting, stripping and monitoring.
As the majority of conveyor belt rips and tears occur at the splices, the method of conveyor belt splicing becomes fundamental in ensuring both the longevity of the conveyor belt and that it performs with optimum efficiency.
Features & benefits
- Increased belt productivity and efficiency
- Several conveyor belt splicing options as determined by your application
- Maximized equipment availability
- Support across Africa
We are the only company in Africa offering on-site conveyor belt splicing with our exclusive Preform™ technology, ensuring stronger splices with shorter cooling periods. Preform™ reduces downtime by up to 25% compared to conventional splicing methods and delivers 10% stronger splices.
Eco Friendly & Economical
Our patented Preform™ conveyor belt splicing technology can be carried out on-site and avoids the use of cement and rubber strips, offering an eco-friendly solution that sets fast, reducing possible dust contamination and maximizing conveyance efficiency. Downtime is reduced by up to 25% compared to conventional splicing methods and is 10% stronger.
Our splicing is vulcanized with leading technology presses from Nilos and Wagener. Nilos also supplies advanced splice monitoring and regulating technology, as well as efficient, easily operated cutting and stripping solutions.

Splice-Watch
Be 100% certain of the quality of your belt splices with the mobile Splice-Watch technology that guarantees the strength of your belt splice within pressure, time and temperature parameters.
As the majority of belt tears occur in the splices, Continental gives its clients guaranteed certainty of the splice strength when they use the innovative splice monitoring software: Splice-Watch.
Features and Benefits
- 100% certainty of splicing parameters
- Monitors three critical parameters of belt splicing: time, pressure and temperature
- Data transferred to laptop or tablet device (optional extra)
Splice-Watch technology is an automatic control system that records three critical parameters during the splicing process: time, pressure and temperature. The on-site control box records these parameters and transfer this data to your laptop or computer for review.
