Ammonia Transfer Hoses
Innovation to maximise environmental impact
Ammonia is increasingly transferred in large quantities via ocean-going vessels, either as a key product within the hydrogen value chain or as a standalone product and fuel. The process demands large bore flexible hoses for efficient and safe transfer within both offshore infrastructure and the ship-to-shore interface. Continental is collaborating with key industry players and partners to develop innovative solutions for transferring green hydrogen in the form of liquified anhydrous ammonia.
Our specialised Marine Hoses for Ammonia Transfer are designed for dynamic and secure operations in various nearshore and offshore configurations, including Single Point Mooring (SPM), Conventional Buoy Mooring (CBM), ship-to-shore, and ship-to-ship transfers. These hoses provide scalable solutions to meet the extensive transfer requirements of green ammonia.
Single Point Mooring (SPM)
Ideal for offshore loading and unloading where a single buoy is used for mooring and hose transfer.
Conventional Buoy Mooring (CBM)
Suitable for installations with multiple mooring buoys and hose systems.
Ship-to-Shore Transfers
Facilitates direct transfer of liquified ammonia between vessels and shore facilities.
Ship-to-Ship Transfers
Enables efficient transfer between two vessels, crucial for mid-sea operations.
- Ammonia Resistant Inner-Liner Compound ensures durability and safety when transferring liquified ammonia.
- Sizes available from 6 inches to 20 inches to accommodate different transfer volumes.
- Designed to operate at a working pressure of up to 25 bar.
- Designed for operating temperatures from -40°C to +55°C.
- Available in Floating, Reeling, and Subsea variants to suit different transfer needs and configurations.
- Hoses can be supplied generally in accordance with GMPHOM, and can be endorsed by classification societies to meet customer requirements.
