The software manufacturer Altair Engineering has presented ContiTech with its Enlighten Award 2016. The award honors ContiTech’s innovative lightweight construction bearings made from polyamide, with which automotive manufacturers can further reduce the weight of their vehicles. The award was presented during the CAR Management Briefing Seminar (MBS) in Traverse City, Michigan (U.S.A.).
ContiTech has been manufacturing lightweight, glass-fiber-reinforced polyamide components for the automotive industry since 2006. Products include heavy-duty engine mounts, which ContiTech produces in high volumes. The components are distinguished not only by their optimum strength, but also by their ability to minimize vibrations and noise (NVH). They also boast impressively high crash protection and meet the highest standards in this area, too.
“We are extremely honored to have received this special recognition from Altair Engineering for our polyamide components,” says Kai Frühauf, head of the ContiTech Vibration Control business unit. “The ContiTech team has performed brilliantly and has been collaborating closely with our customers for a long time to develop high-performance materials for the automotive industry. Our receipt of the Altair Enlighten Award 2016 is testament to the commitment, determination, and expertise of the whole team.”
