Desert® DR5

Applications

Desert® DR5 is a high-temperature, medium-pressure hose for use in applications including turbocharger oil lines, tilt cab cylinder and air brake lines, transmission coolant and filtration lines. It is compatible with petroleum oil, air, water, diesel fuel, petroleum-based lubricating oils and coolants.
* Not recommended for under-the-hood, automotive and truck fuel line applications. Only those designed and tested to meet SAE fuel line standards should be used for these applications. 
**Assemblies made with the Continental DR5 hose and Continental Field-Grip™ or Uni-Crimp™ fittings meet SAE J1402 and DOT FMVSS 571 106 specifications. Assemblies made with Uni-Crimp™ fittings also meet SAE J517 100R5 assembly requirements. Federal law requires registration with the Department of Transportation for anyone producing air brake hose assemblies.

  • Temperature Ranges:
    SAE 100R5 Hydraulic Applications:
    •  -40°F to 302°F (-40°C to 150°C)
    Air Brake Applications:
    •  -40ºF to 200ºF (-40ºC to 93ºC)
    General Hot Oil Applications:
    •  -40ºF to 302ºF (-40ºC to 150ºC)
    General Air Applications:
    •  -40ºF to 200ºF (-40ºC to 93ºC)
    Water Applications:
    •  -40ºF to 212ºF (-40ºC to 100ºC)
  • Note: Sizes 7/8" (-16) and 1a" (-20) do not meet SAE J1402 Type AII & DOT FMVSS 106 Type AII because these sizes are not listed in the referenced specifications.
